Your Tax Dollars At Work...Citigroup Buys New Jet

You have got to see this to believe it. Remember when the Big Three auto execs each flew to Washington, D.C. in their private corporate jets to ask Congress for bailout money? Remember the reaction from Congress and from many of us? That did seem outrageous but this is even more so.

As reported in the New York Post in an article titled, JUST PLANE DESPICABLE 'RESCUED' CITI BUYING $50M JET, Citigroup is taking delivery of a new 12, yes, 12 passenger jet luxury aircraft.

As I said, if the three auto execs were reprimanded for flying in their planes to ask for our money, how bad is it that we have already given Citigroup billions of our tax dollars, bailed them out of certain bankgrupcy and saved the high salaries of those that will now be flying in "our lap of luxury".

Like I said, you have to read it for yourself to believe it. Don't just take my word for it. After you do read it, I believe a letter to your Senator and Congressman is in order.

Just think of how many homes could be saved using that $50 million. Better yet, how many new homeless could be sheltered and fed on this money. What ever happened to patriotism and caring for our fellow man/woman/child?

On the wake of new layoffs and unemployment figures, taking "our" money for living the high life while the rest of us are barely surviving just plain is not right.

CNNMoney.com in a report titled, Bloody Monday: Over 71,400 jobs lost
Seven companies announce massive job cuts in a scary start to the week
. indicating that hundreds of thousands of men, women and children will be struggling to survive while the new "elite" of our society feast on our spoils.

Still no "bailout" money has hit main street. It is still on Bank Street and Wall Street. But wait a minute, isn't that our money to begin with? The average person cannot get a car loan - with our tax bailout dollars - but luxury corporate jets for the people that got us into this mess to begin with is justifiable.

There is something terribly wrong with this picture. This problem is broken, perhaps beyond repair.

Who do you know that is homeless, hungry or on the verge? How many on food stamps and how many still unemployed but can no longer collect unemployment because the benefit has run out for them?

But worry not America, when the executives of Citigroup go to fly over our derserted homes and neighborhoods and past the masses living on the streets and in some shelters - they will be doing so in style.

A true "have" and "have not" society in America - a system supported by our tax dollars that benefit only the few.
